What to Expect
It is my goal to establish and maintain a classroom environment that is welcoming, safe, and friendly for all students. I expect that students treat each other and adults with respect, just as I will treat my students with respect. I know that we will learn a lot and have fun together this year!
Behavior Expectations
Our school has implemented PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports). We have school-wide expectations that are outlined with a matrix for each area throughout the school. Our classroom expectations will reflect and support the school's expectations. Students and classes that are exhibiting positive behavior will receive PAWSitives, tokens that can be collected and redeemed for rewarding experiences throughout the year. We will be setting individual and whole-class goals for the number of PAWSitives that we need to earn to receive a reward.
In our classroom, we use Class Dojo to monitor behavior during the day. Everyone starts at 0 points, and they can earn or lose points depending on behavior choices during the day. Points are awarded or taken away based on following our class and school rules.
Behavior will be recorded in Take-home Folders every day. Please sign the behavior calendar every day.

Birthdays
We love birthdays at school! Please let me know a day or so ahead of time if you would like to send or bring a treat for your child to share with the class for his or her birthday. I will make sure we save room during the day to celebrate.
If your child's birthday falls during the summer when we are out of school, we will have a day in May that we celebrate those summer birthdays.
